Why are you going to Germany?

I’m no longer a Christian, see Lost and How I went to theology school and lost my faith

Because I have plane tickets?

Why?

Because I paid for them.

Why?

Because I was accepted to go to Steiger Missions School in Germany for 10 weeks.

Why?

Because I applied.

Why?

Because I needed to do something other than just live a familiar but ultimately meaningless life.

Why?

Because life is about much greater things than just living my cushy job, and one day having a family.

Why?

Because Jesus instruction wasn’t ‘have a nice, self-centred life’, but rather

“He said to them, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.”Matt 28:19–20

I’m conscious that I haven’t really been living that out.

Why?

Partly because I don’t know what I’m doing, but mostly because I don’t really have a decent understanding of what it truly means to live a life devoted to God. I also find it far too easy to live out of my own abilities rather than by faith.

Why?

I haven’t done something like this before.

Why?

I… don’t know.
